Collard Greens & Bacon Pizza

Green up your pizza with a tasty collard-bacon mix and a pre-baked shell

Serves 4-6

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb) bag Cut ‘N Clean Greens Collard Greens
  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 1/2 small white onion, diced
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (12 inch) pre-baked pizza crust
  • 1/2 cup pizza or tomato sauce
  • 6 oz gouda cheese, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped

Directions

Heat oven to 450 degrees.

In a pot, cover the collard greens with water and lightly boil for about 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat, drain well and set greens aside.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until almost done. Add onions and garlic and cook until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. Add drained collard greens to skillet, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. When collard greens are tender, remove from heat and set pan aside.

Spread pizza sauce on crust. Spread the collard green mixture evenly on top of the sauce. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 8-10 minutes (or follow timing directions on the pizza crust package). When pizza is done, remove from oven, cut and sprinkle with fresh basil just before serving.
